1. Check the electoral roll before applying

Open the Election Commission of India’s Voter Service Portal and use its Search Your Name in Voter List service. Select Telangana and follow the current search options. The portal can show polling details and elected-representative information alongside a voter-list search, so confirm that the result refers to the right person and constituency.

Record the spelling, constituency and polling information that the official result displays. If a search does not find a result, do not assume you are unregistered from one attempt alone. Check the entered details, try permitted spelling variations and return to the official portal or the Telangana CEO site for the current route.

2. Match the request to the official form

The ECI portal identifies Form 6 for new voter registration, Form 7 for deletion or objection, and Form 8 for correction, replacement of an EPIC or PwD marking. These forms answer different questions. Do not choose a new-registration form merely because an existing entry has an error.

Use the portal’s current instructions and document prompts for the exact request. A submitted form is not proof that an entry has been added or changed. Read the current tracker wording and preserve the date of your check. If the result calls for a response or verification, use the official route it identifies and retain the original acknowledgement with any new record.

5. Escalate an unclear result through an official channel

Prepare a short private note with the constituency, form type, acknowledgement number, submission date and exact status wording. The ECI portal lists voter services, complaint/suggestion access and its 1950 contact number; verify current contact details on the portal before calling.
